শুকদেব মণ্ডল স্মরণে - Obituary Sukdeb Mandal

With a heavy heart we let you know that Dr. Sukdeb Mondal, who has been a member of BASC since its inception, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011. Dr. Mondal was 82 years old and is survived by his wife, two daughters, two son-in-laws and three grand children. He was among the founding members of BASC and very intimately and emotionally attached with BASC activities, which he maintained till his last days. For years he shouldered the responsibility of arranging flowers for offering during the Durga Puja. For many years not only did he sponsor the flowers, but he was there at the florists at 5AM to collect the flowers himself. For the last few years due to health reasons he was not able to do this personally but continued to send a check along with a note ("flowers for Ma Durga"). In addition to being a great friend and mentor to our Bengali, Indian and Physician communities, he was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. Our condolences go out to his family. May his soul rest in peace.
